In our factory, the fractions produced during the distillation process tend to condense and form clumps that can block the pipes. Although we use hot water for insulation, the area around the outlet valves as well as the flanges of the branch pipes still allow these substances to cool down and cause blockages. Is there any good solution?

Our liquid sulfur pipelines are equipped with external jacket heating; the valves and branch pipe flanges are heated and insulated through external heating pipes connected to the heat medium, which yields good results.
Valves and flanges are prone to crystallization-related blockages; this is clearly due to insufficient heating temperatures and inadequate insulation. Consider using steam heating – an overall higher temperature of the pipes will reduce the risk of blockages.
Steam tracing provides good heating effects, makes it easy to control the temperature, and helps maintain a constant temperature.
It is recommended to use steam-traced pipes for the pipelines, and preferably small pipes with a fine diameter, as this provides better insulation. Jacketed valves can be considered for use as valves. If water can be added to the material inside the tower, steam or hot water inlets can also be provided; steam is introduced periodically to prevent blockages, or steam is added promptly once a blockage is detected. First, change the insulation mode; second, replace the valve with an insulated valve.
Use electric heating tapes with more turns in areas where crystallization is likely to occur, and fewer turns in areas where it is less likely to happen. Place temperature sensors in areas of the kitchen where crystallization is likely to occur. Transmitting the temperature signal to the control system to automatically heat the pipeline is a good method, as it saves a lot of trouble. Quite a few of them are already in use here. It will not cause any leakage of vapor.
