If the diversion valve is behind the valve, it can be opened to drain the water.; If the guide shower is in front of the valve and far away from the previous steam outlet branch, it is easy to freeze. A small amount of temporary tape should be connected to this guide shower to prevent the water from freezing and condensation.

If it is going to be frozen, the basic solution is to shorten the dead pipe section and install a water trap. As a temporary solution, the heat tracing or diversion valve is slightly opened to allow a small amount of steam to flow out. It will not work if it is closed or not used, otherwise it will definitely be frozen. Leakage will be fine. When the weather warms up, just connect it and close it. It must be completely solved during overhaul.
When designing steam pipelines, antifreeze issues in winter should be taken into consideration and as many traps as possible should be used. When operating the device in winter, try not to use reverse showers and do a good job of antifreeze!
For a 20cm long diversion valve, if the pipe at the top of the diversion valve is that long and the steam pressure is not very high, it will freeze. If the pipe at the top of the valve is not very long, it doesn't matter. If you are afraid of freezing, you can add insulation materials to the shower guide in winter, or simply open the valve a little to keep a small amount of steam discharged, and it will be okay.
We have tried the 40kg stainless steel valve which is not damaged by freezing.
Under normal circumstances: there are regulations for the installation and connection of the diversion valve. In the northern winter, if the installation of the pipe of the diversion valve is too long and there are no good insulation measures, it is easy to freeze!
If it is connected to a water trap and works normally, then it is fine. In winter, when heat loss is large, the water trap will continue to deliver water, but you must pay attention to inspections to prevent damage to the water trap. In addition, during parking, you need to open the valve in time to drain away the accumulated water.
