Regarding the issue of interchangeability between anti-wear hydraulic oil and machine oil

After consulting the relevant departments at CNPC and Sinopec, it turns out that these two companies no longer produce mechanical oil; instead, they use anti-wear hydraulic oils of appropriate grades. However, many equipment manufacturers still specify in their user manuals that mechanical oil must be used, asserting that if mechanical oil is not used, the manufacturers will not be held responsible in case of any problems with the equipment. Where do all the machine oils available on the market these days come from? Is the quality of oil products reliable? Can anti-wear hydraulic oil replace machine oil?
I would like to know more about this as well; why isn’t there anyone to answer?
Anti-wear hydraulic oil cannot replace mechanical oil. Some mechanical oils are recycled from used oil; as for how to tell the difference, I’m not really expert in that
I really don’t understand what was said upstairs. If mechanical oil is made by reusing some used oil, then why can’t new anti-wear hydraulic oil replace it?
Most of the parameters of anti-wear fluids are comparable to those of machine oils; however, due to their high acid value, it is better not to use them as substitutes.
Personally, I think it can be used as a substitute just fine; I hope experienced experts can provide an authoritative opinion.
