I would like to know: given the pipe diameter and the pressure in the pipeline, how can one calculate the flow velocity of the liquid inside the pipe? The pressure inside the pipe is known to be 0.9 MPa, with a pipe diameter of DN50. The liquid in the pipe is seawater with a specific gravity of 1.08. When calculating the flow velocity of a liquid, pressure need not be taken into account; the flow velocity is simply the volume flowing per second divided by the cross-sectional area of the pipe.
Your conditions do not allow for the calculation of flow velocity. The traffic must be known.
Flow rate has no relation to pressure; it is only related to the pipe diameter and pressure difference
It seems impossible to calculate; it can be done if the pressure drop and piping conditions are known.
Now that you know the pipe diameter and specific gravity, you also need to know the mass flow rate or volume flow rate in order to calculate the linear velocity. Liquid has nothing to do with pressure; you can refer to the standards – as long as there is a flow rate, that’s sufficient
