When methanol is produced from syngas using the water-coal slurry gasification process, what is the concentration of methanol in the distillation residues generated as wastewater? Or, how much distillation residue is produced per ton of methanol? How to handle distillation residues? Burn it? Sell it? Biological treatment again? Or directly excrete it? What are these main treatment methods? I urgently hope that the comrades on the front line can provide a response. Thank you? :loveliness:
A plant with a capacity of 200,000 tons generates 6 tons of wastewater per hour; this wastewater is used for coal slurry gasification and coal grinding, or it can be sent for biochemical treatment. The residual liquid contains 0.5% methanol and cannot be discharged directly.
During the feasibility study phase, the distillation wastewater was used for coal grinding, but once the preliminary design stage was reached, this water was no longer used for that purpose. I don’t know if there are any Texaco coal gasification chemical plants in China that actually use it for coal grinding
If biochemical treatment is used, will the amount of water discharged become four to five times the original wastewater volume? Where does the additional water come from?
Besides biochemical treatment and discharge, what else can be done?
Can it be digested by distillation and then added to the extraction water?
The residue does not contain only methanol; what’s important is that it contains many high-boiling-point organic compounds. If these cannot be processed, they will accumulate within the system, affecting distillation processes.
