A few small suggestions for the development of the forum

Here are a few suggestions: Haichuan is developing at an increasing pace, and the traffic volume and number of posts on certain forums are significantly high, which causes some excellent posts to get buried too quickly and may not be seen by those who arrive later. On other hand, there are forums where few posts are posted in a day, and even a low-quality post can remain unburied for days. Furthermore, even within the same section and with the same number of administrators, the workload can vary significantly. In light of this, it is hoped that HaiChuan’s management will take some effective measures to improve this situation; here are a few suggestions: 1. Further divide the two or three most popular sections in order to distribute some of the traffic among them ； At the same time, a few of the least visited sections will be merged to maintain the current number of sections on the forum, facilitating management and improving the efficiency of work in each section. Ultimately, this helps to balance the traffic to various sections of the forum with the workload required to manage them; good posts do not get lost quickly, allowing every visitor to see HaiChuan’s excellent posts every day. 2. Each moderator will pin the topic posts that receive a high number of visits and significant attention on that day. The duration for which these posts remain pinned is determined by the administrators (moderators) based on the level of attention they receive; posts with higher levels of attention will have their pinning period extended accordingly. 3. Some people working in inorganic chemical industry go to Haichuan, and sometimes they can’t find an appropriate section to post new messages. It is recommended to establish a new section for inorganic materials in order to attract and retain experts in this field, expand Haichuan’s business scope, and strengthen its technical capabilities. 4. **Great emphasis is placed on the development and utilization of new energy sources as well as on energy conservation and emission reduction; does HaiChuan also consider creating appropriate sections for everyone to have a space to discuss these topics? Creating a new section will consume limited server space resources, but for Haichuan’s further development, I believe it is still necessary. By retaining every visitor and enhancing the forum’s influence in the industry, HaiChuan aims to become the website with the strongest technical capabilities, the largest number of members, and the most comprehensive collection of information in the chemical industry. There’s no need to worry about the service materials required for creating pages. As for whether new areas should be established to promote energy conservation and emission reduction, I’d like to hear everyone’s opinions on this. An inorganic materials section is also planned to be created; I’m curious to know what suggestions you have regarding how such sections should be organized. For pages with high traffic levels, it might be possible to arrange their content based on the number of responses received, though this approach also has its drawbacks. Currently, moderators are tasked with periodically promoting popular topics to boost their visibility. I have an opinion, which might not be very appropriate; please consider it just as a suggestion. I am engaged in teaching in the field of chemical engineering. Generally speaking, on the several well-known chemical engineering forums in China, there are very few sections dedicated to discussing theories of chemical engineering – topics such as chemical reaction engineering, chemical engineering thermodynamics, transport processes, and separation processes. There isn’t much opportunity for discussion on these subjects at my workplace, and when I go to forums, it’s often difficult to find appropriate sections for such discussions. However, since there are no corresponding sections on these domestic forums, it seems that the demand in this area is relatively low.
