Why are the materials of all the flanges in HG20592 not specified, yet does each of them have a corresponding weight? I’m a beginner; please give me some advice
It is estimated to be calculated based on a density of 7.85
Why isn’t it specified in the standards?
These weights are approximate values; the chemical industry is not the machinery industry, and precision requirements regarding dimensions are very high. For example, if the thickness of a flange was specified as 45, but the actual measurement after manufacturing turns out to be 47, can you really say that it’s not acceptable?
HG20592 specifies a material grade of P140, but the weight of the flange is estimated; it is no longer important to use specific material densities of 7.85 or 8. :)
This is the approximate weight of the flange; it does not take into account manufacturing tolerances or differences in density, with the density being based primarily on carbon steel.
It’s borrowed from the European standard system; I guess foreigners don’t have it either! I use it based on the specific circumstances, and sometimes I need to recalculate as well!
The standards are clear: HG20592 \"Types and Parameters of Steel Pipe Flanges\" specifies the nominal diameter, nominal pressure, flange type, connection dimensions, sealing surface dimensions, and markings for steel pipe flanges (European system). HG20592 is applicable to (European system) steel pipe flanges and flange covers with a nominal pressure of 0.25 MPa (2.5 bar) to 2.5 MPa (250 bar). HG20592 is also applicable to valves, pumps, chemical processing machinery, pipeline fittings, and equipment components that use flanges (of the European system) as the connection method. In summary, it is neither possible nor appropriate to have a description of weight. By the way, HG20615 is the same as HG20592, except that it refers to the American system.
