If chlorine levels fluctuate frequently during the production control process, it can cause the ion membrane to vibrate; excessive contact in certain areas with the electrode plates leads to wear and the formation of pinholes; Excessive levels of calcium, magnesium ions, and other substances in saltwater can also cause precipitates to form within the membrane, thereby damaging its structure.
During the production process, the chlorine pressure must not be higher than the hydrogen pressure; in other words, there should be no negative pressure difference. Since the cathode surface is relatively rough, a negative pressure difference can cause pinholes to form as friction occurs between the membrane and the cathode. Under normal conditions, the membrane is in close contact with the anode.
