Has anyone used the C207 methanol catalyst from Nanjing Catalyst Factory? How effective is it? Please share your comments: handshake :handshake
Our plant’s 80,000 t/a methanol production has always used C207, with quite good results. It just needs to be sifted before loading, as there is a lot of dust.
Our factory has just started using it; it will be connected to the grid this evening during the heating and reduction process, and we’ll know more shortly!
For our plant’s 70,000 t/a methanol production process, medium-pressure methanol has always been produced using Nanhua C207, and the results have been quite good. It’s just that the price is high; our company currently has a set of 20,000-ton units using Liuhua technology. For high-pressure methanol, use Nanhua C301.
Response regarding excessive dust: (1) The misconception about catalyst strength: Many manufacturers emphasize the strength of catalysts when purchasing them, but this is a misplaced focus. The strength of the final product has little impact on production; what truly matters is the uniformity of the catalyst. Since the strength of a catalyst after reduction is quite low, it needs a uniform structure to provide support (this is why the rate of pressure change needs to be controlled). The standard lateral compressive strength for C207 is 145 N/CM; if this value is too high, two problems arise: first, the activity of the catalyst decreases, and second, there are issues related to the flow rate of gases during the reduction process.
