We plan to install several liquid ammonia storage tanks with a total volume of around 200 m3. They will be of horizontal design, and the possible combinations include 5 tanks of 40 m3 each, 4 tanks of 50 m3 each, 3 tanks of 70 m3 each, and 2 tanks of 100 m3 each. If space is not a concern, then considering factors such as pressure capacity, manufacturing costs, safety, and operation, there should be an optimal configuration. How should these tanks be combined in the most reasonable way? Have you encountered similar issues? Feel free to share your thoughts. Thank you!
Relatively speaking, the cost of two 100-cubic units is lower.
This relates to the manufacturing capacity of the production unit, as well as the heat treatment capabilities. Theoretically, if the above requirements are met, it would be more economical to use 2 units with a capacity of 100 cubic meters each.
Could you tell us what your liquid ammonia is used for? Is it a product? Is it raw material? For cooling (heh, unlikely)? Different operating conditions are not the same. :) :)

Three units with a capacity of 70 cubic meters are more convenient to use and maintain; during periodic inspections of the pressure vessels, two of them can provide 70% of the storage capacity.
