When is it necessary to add guide cylinders to the heat exchanger? I searched around in HTRI for a long time but couldn’t find where to add guide cylinders. Can HTRI be used to add guide cylinders to heat exchangers? Thank you
What I know is that guide cylinders are installed at the inlet and outlet of heat exchangers to make the fluid distribution at the inlet more uniform; these are usually external guide cylinders, and they are employed in heat exchangers with a relatively large shell diameter. It can be divided into several aspects: there is an inner flow guide cylinder and an outer flow guide cylinder. After looking at it for a long time, I still don’t quite understand how to add external guide cylinders to a heat exchanger when using HTRI for its design.
