　　Yesterday, Cixian County and Fengfeng Group held a signing ceremony for a coal chemical industry cooperation project, marking a new chapter in the development and expansion of this industry in Handan. 　　This project has been included in the province’s development plan for the coal chemical industry, and it is a key industrial support project at the provincial level. The total investment in the project is 5 billion yuan, and it is divided into 6 sub-projects: an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of coke, 200,000 tons of methanol produced from coke oven gas, 300,000 tons of coal tar, 100,000 tons of refined crude benzene, 500,000 tons of methanol produced through gasification of coal, as well as a power generation facility using waste gas and waste heat with a capacity of 37 MW. Upon completion of the project, annual profits and taxes could reach 1.5 billion yuan. 　　Fengfeng Group ranks 29th among the top 100 enterprises in China’s coal industry. Cixian County boasts abundant high-quality coal resources, and the site chosen for the project has been deemed by experts from the **Environmental Protection Administration to be an ideal location for the development of coal chemical industries.
