I previously raised a question regarding the scoring. The main problems are: 1. There is an overabundance of ratings. Some actually have mediocre quality, yet still receive high scores, without any comments from the person who gave the score. 2. The scoring criteria were not followed. The poor implementation of the scoring criteria also led to arbitrary scoring by moderators and technical team members. 3. The scorer’s mindset. Due to the overload of ratings, raters also began to inflate their scores, fearing they might fall short. Previously, there have been instances where forum members refused to accept a moderator’s lower rating in favor of a moderator with a higher rating. The rating reflects not only an approval of a post, but also the reader’s understanding of it, interest in it, and even follow-up on it. If ratings become excessive, the threshold for achieving high scores drops, and people naturally strive to achieve scores more easily; the excessive focus on non-technical topics in forums is also one of the reasons for this. A rule that is not enforced is no rule at all. We need to reexamine the forum scoring system and set limits on the scores that can be assigned to certain post topics, ensuring that moderators/technical team members do not exceed these limits in any single instance ； Higher-grade high scores should be achieved through an upgraded version. The excessive rating system results in low-quality posts receiving high scores; from an outsider’s perspective, this is due either to the low value of HAICHUAN’s currency, or to the low quality of HAICHUAN itself, or perhaps to both factors. The points system is about achieving a balance, shifting between a loose and a tight state. Currently, there is a tendency to move in the direction of looseness; of course, I believe that some adjustments will be made through everyone’s discussions. All systems have lag. Everyone is welcome to share suggestions and discuss this issue.
I think it’s possible to impose some limits: the rating for ordinary posts should not exceed 10 points, and their appeal score should not be higher than 3. I think these ratings are acceptable; good posts can be given higher scores as appropriate. Personal opinion
I already mentioned the hardness requirements in a post, but it seems like no one agreed with them. In fact, regulations can indeed be a very good solution.
I completely agree with the original poster’s view! Developing rivers and seas to involve more people – this reform is the right one; I support it! However, we must note that, just like in our motherland, when the economy develops rapidly, it is also a time when contradictions become prominent; there are the most problems, and the impact is significant! It might even be detrimental to the development of the forum! We can’t blindly pursue high standards and expect to gain weight quickly; that’s unscientific! The development of rivers and seas requires our efforts, as well as time!
