I would like to ask everyone: what is the direction of the axial force on semi-open impellers and fully open impellers? What is the direction of the axial force on the fully open impellers of vertical pumps?

The axial force on the pump should be such that the back side of the impeller faces the inlet, right~~~
What about the fully open type? And what about the back side of the impeller?
Personally, I think it should be from the drive end of the pump toward the suction inlet end, as the inlet end is generally under negative pressure. I’m not sure if my understanding of axial force is correct: handshake
It should be like this: from the back side of the impeller toward the pump inlet. This is mainly due to the asymmetry in the structure on the inlet and back sides of the impeller, which creates a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet, resulting in an axial force directed toward the inlet.

The first axial force F1 is directed along the axis toward the impeller inlet; it arises because the area of the impeller rear cover exposed to the discharged fluid is larger than that of the front cover. The second axial force, F2, is the impact exerted on the impeller by the liquid flowing into it; this force is very small during operation. But at startup, F2 is still quite noticeable. Total axial force F = F1 – F2
The pump draws water in by the impeller rotating to create a negative pressure. The inlet side must be under negative pressure, while the other areas are under positive pressure. In other words, the axial force must always point toward the inlet end.
