In wastewater systems, it is generally acceptable to have inlet water at temperatures not exceeding 50°C.
Wastewater needs to be sent to wastewater treatment plants, which generally use the activated sludge method. There is an optimal temperature for activated sludge, which is 35–50 degrees; if the temperature rises, the efficiency of removing COD decreases.
If the temperature of a system is high, exceeding 50 degrees. So how can the temperature of the wastewater discharged be kept below 50 degrees?
