Why is nitrogen protection needed for equipment during transportation? Under what circumstances is this protection necessary, and under what circumstances is it not required? How is this protection implemented?
Before filling with nitrogen, the interior of the equipment must be dried using compressed air, especially for equipment that has just undergone a hydrostatic test. In addition, it is important to use high-quality nozzles and valves for nitrogen filling, in order to prevent the equipment from becoming loose due to vibrations during transportation. Often, by the time such nitrogen-filling equipment arrives at the installation site, the nitrogen pressure gauge reads zero, meaning it cannot provide adequate protection. After the container is manufactured, nitrogen filling serves two main purposes. 1. Nitrogen is an inert gas that prevents moisture in the air or other gases from entering the equipment, thus protecting the components and materials inside from being altered from their condition right after manufacturing ; 2. Generally, after the equipment arrives at the site, it is not installed and tested immediately; it may need to be stored for a while. Nitrogen flushing for protection allows one to assess the condition of the equipment, determine whether it has been damaged during transportation and installation, and check for any leaks in certain areas.
