Why is most of the sulfur produced by domestic refining plants in the form of lump sulfur, while the sulfur imported from other regions or the Middle East is in granular form? From the perspective of users, granular sulfur is more convenient to use; therefore, can domestic refining plants make improvements in this regard? Welcome to the discussion, thank you!
In my refinery, acidic gases containing high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide are used in the Claus process to produce liquid sulfur. Once in the liquid sulfur tank, this sulfur is pumped to the granulation facility, where granulators are used to produce granular sulfur. I believe most domestic products these days are like this. :lol
My refinery’s sulfur unit has been in operation for just half a month; it converts acidic gases containing high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide into liquid sulfur through the Claus process. After entering the liquid sulfur tank, this sulfur is pumped to the granulation room, where granulators are used to produce granular sulfur, which is then packaged. Most domestic sulfur is of this kind these days, but some molding machines do not perform well and are unable to produce granules.
