Let’s compare the advantages and disadvantages of PVC positive-pressure conveying and negative-pressure conveying, and recommend which one is better. Our factory uses positive-pressure Roots blowers for transportation, and there is a lot of dust in the vibration screen chamber. :L
In terms of transportation, positive pressure transportation has a high energy efficiency and is also a commonly used method. If PVC is transported under negative pressure, a large amount of air will enter the system from the vibrating screen, resulting in insufficient conveying pressure for PVC, especially when the bin is empty. Regarding the solution to the problem of excessive dust in the vibration sieve chamber, I believe it is possible to install a fan at the gas outlet pipeline of the silo, thereby creating a negative pressure area around both the silo and the vibration sieve (it is essential to add a gas connection pipe between the silo and the vibration sieve to prevent poor material discharge from the silo). This modification has been successful in other applications involving powder transportation.
From production practice, positive pressure conveying is generally used. The pros and cons mentioned by netizens on Building 2# are quite comprehensive. Regarding the issue of high dust levels, although negative pressure conveying can help address the dust problem, the power utilization efficiency is also very low, making it not worth it in some cases. Consider using a cyclone separator at a higher location, in combination with steam humidification, to solve the issue. This is the arrangement we have used; the results aren’t very good, and so far we haven’t found a better one. This post was last edited by ljtys on 2007-12-9 12:02]
I think it is possible to consider using cyclone separators at a higher elevation, combined with steam humidification, and at the same time installing fans on the gas outlet lines of the silo, so as to create a negative pressure area around the silo and the vibrating screen to solve the problem. Our company is planning to adopt this method. This post was last edited by limingshuguang on 2009-4-15 21:52.]
