DuPont N-2030 is generally used as a membrane in high-density natural circulation electrolyzers. It is similar to Asahi Kasei’s F-4401/F-4402/F-4403D/F-6801 and Nagase Glass’ F-8020SP; all of these materials contain a sacrificial core. In terms of strength, DuPont N-2030 appears to be superior to F-4402, while its voltage performance is on par with that of F-4403D/F-6801. Nagase Glass’ F-8020SP has not yet been used in complete electrolyzers – it is only being tested at present. Based on tests conducted by various manufacturers, its voltage strength and other properties are considered average.
