For a device, when conducting tests on its absorption or stripping performance, which system is easier to analyze and use to calculate the number of theoretical plates? I hope everyone can give me some guidance.
Oxygen-water will do; it’s easier to compare
Is it using air to blow out the oxygen in the water? It’s not easy to analyze, right?
If chosen arbitrarily, there are many such material systems; for example, the ethanol-water system, in which air can be used as the stripping gas quite conveniently. I don’t know which aspect of your research you are focusing on; I think this one is more important.
Nitrogen is the preferred gas for stripping, as it allows one to ignore the effects of impurities or oxygen oxidation; its only drawback is its higher cost, which makes it the preferred choice in high-standard tests; Air is readily available, but the owner should consider whether elements such as oxygen in it might have an impact on the experiment.
We use air for gas lift, but we are considering using an ammonia-nitrogen aqueous solution; it is widely used in industry and is easy to analyze. What do everyone think?
It’s a good system, but it’s sensitive to pH. . More experiments should be conducted under different pH conditions, especially those under industrial conditions
