Do large acid tanks have maintenance manholes on the shell?

There is a 5,000-ton acid tank; the manhole was originally located 800 units below the bottom. Concerns regarding the weakening of the tank shell as a result of this opening, as well as issues related to the sealing of the manhole cover, led to its relocation to the top
The situation you mentioned is quite rare. Generally, large sulfuric acid tanks do not have manholes on their bodies, as high pressure may occur when the tank is filled with sulfuric acid, which could be dangerous. Normally, a manhole is opened on the top of the tank, and a ladder is installed inside the tank.
For an acid tank of 5,000 tons, the manhole should be located at the top. After all, the opening is a weak point; once there is a leak at the bottom, the consequences can be disastrous.
The lower cylinder of our plant’s 500-ton acid tank already has manholes; I’ll take a photo on site tomorrow and upload it.
