Classifying them based on the solid-to-gas ratio is not scientific – it is more appropriate to classify them according to the flow state of the fluid. Dense-phase transport can be used over distances of any length, while dilute-phase transport is suitable for short distances only. Dense-phase transport can cover distances of several kilometers, and in China, there is engineering experience with transports over 1,000 meters in length.
