Zhejiang Hualian Sanshin Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s project with an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons of PTA utilizes patented technology from the American company Eastman. This production method is the most advanced technologically, the most economical, and the most mature in terms of process. Process characteristics: (1) Unique design of the oxidation reactor; (2) Simplified production process; (3) Mild oxidation conditions; (4) Efficient utilization of energy; (5) No use of precious metal catalysts. Production process and flow: In this process, PTA is produced using PX as raw material, acetic acid (HAC) as solvent, cobalt acetate and manganese acetate as catalysts, and hydrobromic acid as a promoter. Air is introduced into the reactor for liquid-phase oxidation to produce crude terephthalic acid (CTA). CTA is then processed in a post-oxidation unit to further oxidize 4-CBA into PTA. The crude TA product is refined through dissolution and crystallization, which improves the yield of the product. Finally, the product is obtained through crystallization, separation, and drying.
