There is currently a packing tower with an inner diameter of 2000 mm and a height of 18,000 mm (the height of the Pall ring packing being 6 m). Due to space constraints, a skirt-type foundation cannot be used; instead, ear-type supports are planned to be employed. The location is Ningbo, Zhejiang. Is there any safer design structure available? Thank you!
There should be no problem, but how should the ear-type support be calculated? I couldn’t calculate it for Libra last time; I hope the original poster can give me some guidance.
1. Using an ear-type support structure should be fine; its calculations can be carried out using software such as COMPRESS. 2. Ear-type supports with rigid rings can be used; calculations are provided in HG20582. 3. A skirt structure with central support can also be used, and calculations can be performed using software.

If there are multiple floors or platforms, multi-layered ear-type supports can be considered for support.
