Among us in the sulfuric acid industry, does anyone know the specific procedures for applying to become a registered chemical engineer? I couldn’t find any information on it on our local websites. Could someone please explain it to me?
Introduction to the Registered Chemical Engineer Practice Qualification Examination: A registered chemical engineer is a professional technician who holds both the \"Registered Chemical Engineer Practice Qualification Certificate of the People’s Republic of China\" and the \"Registration Certificate for Registered Chemical Engineer Practice Qualification of the People’s Republic of China\", and is engaged in the design of chemical engineering projects (including those in the fields of chemistry, petrochemicals, chemical fibers, pharmaceuticals, and light chemicals) as well as related activities. I. Documents governing the examination: The Notice issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Construction regarding the issuance of the “Interim Provisions on the Professional Qualification System for Registered Chemical Engineers”, the “Implementation Measures for the Professional Qualification Examination for Registered Chemical Engineers”, and the “Measures for the Assessment and Recognition of Professional Qualifications for Registered Chemical Engineers” (Ren Fa [2003] No. 26).
II. Eligibility requirements: Any citizen of the People’s Republic of China who abides by relevant laws and regulations, adheres to professional ethics, possesses the necessary educational background and professional experience in the relevant field, and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take the basic examination: (1) Having a bachelor’s degree or higher in this field (such as Chemical Engineering and Technology, Polymer Materials and Engineering, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Light Chemical Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, etc.) or a related field (such as Process Equipment and Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, etc.). (II) Hold an associate degree in this major or a related field, and have at least 1 year of experience in chemical engineering design work. (III) Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 1 year of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work. Those who have passed the basic examination and meet one of the following conditions may apply to take the professional examination: (1) Having obtained a doctoral degree in this field, with at least 2 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a doctoral degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 3 years. (II) Having obtained a master’s degree in this field, with at least 3 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a master’s degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 4 years. (III) Having obtained a double bachelor’s degree including this major, or having graduated from a graduate program in this field, and having accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or obtain a double bachelor’s degree in a related field, or complete postgraduate studies, and have accumulated at least 5 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (IV) Having obtained a bachelor’s degree from a university that has passed the educational assessment for this field, and having accumulated at least 4 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a university that has not passed the evaluation for education in this field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 5 years ； Or have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with at least 6 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (5) Having obtained an associate degree in this field, with a total of 6 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining an associate degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 7 years. (VI) Having obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, and having accumulated at least 8 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. As of December 31, 2002, those who meet one of the following conditions may be exempted from the basic exam and only need to take the professional exam: (1) Having obtained a doctoral degree in this field, with at least 5 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a doctoral degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 6 years. (II) Having obtained a master’s degree in this field, with at least 6 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a master’s degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 7 years. (III) Having obtained a double bachelor’s degree including this major, or having completed a postgraduate program in this field, and having accumulated at least 7 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, having obtained a double bachelor’s degree in a related field or graduating from a graduate program, with at least 8 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (IV) Having obtained a bachelor’s degree in this field, with at least 8 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a related field, having accumulated at least 9 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (5) Having obtained an associate degree in this field, with a total of 9 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining an associate degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 10 years. (VI) Having obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, and having accumulated at least 12 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (7) After obtaining an associate degree in another engineering field, having accumulated at least 15 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (8) Having obtained a secondary vocational diploma in this field, and having accumulated at least 25 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a secondary vocational diploma in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 30 years. In accordance with the \"Notice on Issues Concerning the Approval for Residents of ** and Macau to Take the Professionally Qualified Technical Personnel Examinations Organized Uniformly on the Mainland\" (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Document No. 9), all residents of ** and Macau who meet the relevant requirements for taking the registration examination for chemical engineering engineers may apply to take the exam in accordance with the procedures and requirements specified in the document. III. Examination Subjects The examination consists of a basic exam and a specialized exam. The basic exam is held over 2 half-days, with 4 hours each ； The professional examination consists of two parts: professional knowledge and professional case studies. Each part is conducted over 2 half-days, with each half-day lasting 3 hours. IV. Organization of the Examination: The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Personnel are jointly responsible for organizing the professional qualification examination for registered chemical engineers. The registration examination for chemical engineering practitioners follows a national unified syllabus and unified question-setting system, and is held once a year in principle. Those who pass the registration examination for chemical engineering practitioners are awarded the \"Certification Certificate for Registered Chemical Engineering Practitioners of the People’s Republic of China\", which is printed in accordance with standards set by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and bears the seals of both this ministry and the Ministry of Construction, and is issued by the human resources administrative departments of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. (III) Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 1 year of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work. (II) Having obtained a master’s degree in this field, with at least 6 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a master’s degree in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 7 years. (III) Having obtained a double bachelor’s degree including this major, or having completed a postgraduate program in this field, and having accumulated at least 7 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, having obtained a double bachelor’s degree in a related field or graduating from a graduate program, with at least 8 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (7) After obtaining an associate degree in another engineering field, having accumulated at least 15 years of experience in chemical engineering design work. (8) Having obtained a secondary vocational diploma in this field, and having accumulated at least 25 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a secondary vocational diploma in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 30 years. Article 7: To take the exam, an applicant must submit a request themselves; after their employer gives approval, they may register with the local examination administration authority. After reviewing the applications in accordance with the prescribed procedures and requirements, the examination authority issues the admission tickets. Examinees must take the exam at the time and place specified on their admission tickets. Professional and technical personnel from the units under various departments of the State Council and enterprises under central government management register for the exam in accordance with the principle of territorial jurisdiction. Article 8: Examination centers shall, in principle, be located in provincial capitals and municipalities directly under the Central Government. If it is truly necessary to establish them in other cities, approval must be obtained from the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Construction.
