Our factory is located in Guangdong, by the sea, where the temperature remains high throughout the year, with the lowest temperatures still above 0 degrees. I have just started working and am not yet very familiar with these machines. I would appreciate some guidance from those who are more experienced
Industrial air compressors are generally cooled by water, while only small air compressors use air cooling.
Air compressors for instruments are generally small compressors, and air cooling is sufficient. A screw compressor can be used.
In Guangdong, air cooling is sufficient; water cooling is also acceptable. It depends on your process requirements. In water cooling, a circulating water supply is required, while in air cooling this is not necessary; it is sufficient to blow the device regularly to remove dust. However, the heat exchange efficiency of air cooling is not as good as that of water cooling. Water cooling produces less noise.
Due to the higher temperatures in your area, air cooling will not be very effective; it’s better to opt for water cooling. There are several advantages to this: 1. It produces less noise. 2. The cooling effect is much better. However, there are also some disadvantages: 1. You need to be careful about scale formation, so softened water should be used. 2. It wastes resources; it’s important to consider environmental protection, and a closed-loop system is preferable.
Water cooling is good and effective; the natural conditions of the place in your dreams determine that circulating water cooling is the best option
What size of unit? Small-displacement engines can use air cooling, while large-displacement engines are recommended to use water cooling. The temperature in Guangdong is quite high; in areas such as northern Jiangsu and southern Shandong, air cooling isn’t sufficient even in the summer.
The water cooling effect is great! It’s quite hot in Guangdong, so air cooling might not be effective.
The key is the air delivery volume. If it’s not high, for example, just a few dozen cubic meters per minute, then a screw-type compressor is an excellent choice, as air cooling will be sufficient. If it is large, choose a centrifugal type; water cooling is preferred.
