I study engineering, and I’m interested in knowing that dust removal equipment uses differential pressure for cleaning operations. If a differential pressure transmitter is not used, can a regular differential pressure gauge be used to transmit signals remotely to a PLC for control purposes? It should be noted that the PLC design does not include a communication module.
Does the differential pressure gauge have a transmitter or communication port?
No. I just want to know if it’s possible to use it to acquire signals without a transmitter, in order to achieve control purposes. Do you have such a differential pressure gauge?
It’s also possible to install a pressure gauge transmitter at each of the inlet and outlet points for dust removal; the signals are then sent to the PLC, where calculations are performed. In this way, there is no need for differential pressure transmitters, and control can still be achieved – it’s even more reliable than using communication methods (since there are no differential pressure transmitters in the warehouse, and the company wants to save costs, so the previously unused transmitters are put to use). It’s also possible to use ordinary differential pressure gauges on the first floor, but in that case the analog signals need to be converted into digital signals. Can’t it be achieved with a differential pressure gauge? I’m currently trying to control costs, and using transmitters would definitely increase them significantly. And by replacing one differential pressure transmitter with two pressure transmitters, I guess the cost must have increased, right? (The problem is that there is no pressure transmitter, or it needs to be purchased again. Hehe). Is it true that without a transmitter, it’s impossible to transmit signals and use PLC for control? It should be understood that pressure signals cannot replace electrical signals. . . Therefore, the pressure signal must be converted into an electrical signal so that the PLC can control it. . . .
The communication module of a PLC is used for communication with subsystems, and it is not designed specifically for field signals such as pressure. .
The purpose of a transmitter is to convert the output signal from a sensor into a signal that can be recognized by a controller; without a transmitter, communication would not be possible
