In our factory’s secondary sedimentation tank, there is spherical material floating to the surface – what’s causing this? Is there anyone skilled who can help me solve this? ? ?
““Ball-shaped rebellion”? It should be spherical sludge! I guess it’s due to an excessive retention time of the sludge, resulting in anaerobic digestion!
Possible reasons: 1. Certain substances in the sludge oxidize to produce gas, causing the sludge to float to the surface； 2. The temperature of the wastewater decreases, and the specific gravity of the sludge drops, resulting in floating ； 3. Water treatment agents may have been used; if they are of the floating type, their effect continues, while if they are of the settling type, this effect ceases to function ； In the first case, the sedimentation tank needs to be treated regularly; for the latter two cases, the chemicals used need to be adjusted, along with regular cleaning and maintenance.
