How should flow opening and flow closing of control valves be understood?
It seems that the direction of fluid flow matters: flow in that direction facilitates the opening of the valve, while the opposite direction has the opposite effect
Flow open and flow closed refer to the direction of fluid flow; it is defined as follows: at the throttle port, when the fluid flows in the direction in which the valve is open (that is, in the same direction as the valve’s opening direction), it is called flow open； Conversely, when flowing in the direction of valve closure (i.e., in the same direction as the valve closing), it is called flow closure.
I think what was said on the third floor makes a lot of sense. I’ve also never heard of terms like “flow open” or “flow close”; I need to come and learn more about it*
Flow open and flow closed affect the shut-off pressure; for media containing particles, flow open is preferred more often!
