Recently, I have considered reusing some of the 90°C condensate water in the thermal power plant. However, since boilers have high requirements regarding water quality, the condensate water does not meet those standards; therefore, it needs to be cooled to below 40°C before it can be used after being treated by water treatment equipment. Initially, it was planned to use deionized water for cooling, but this only results in a temperature reduction of around 65°C. As there is no source of cold water available, I am thinking of using a cooling tower. One concern is that during the cooling process in the cooling tower, impurities from the air may end up in the water and contaminate it. How can this problem be solved? Are there any other methods for cooling the water? We thought about using circulating water for cooling, but since there isn’t enough of such water available at the moment, we have to consider other alternatives. It is possible to refine condensed water without reducing its temperature; this technology is already in use, and it has been implemented in many large enterprises in China. You can search for it on Baidu – this approach not only saves water but also improves the efficiency of heat utilization, resulting in significant economic benefits.
Lithium bromide refrigeration technology could be considered to recover this heat, but this technology also requires circulating water. It would be better to use evaporation-type condensation technology to cool the condensate water; this cooled water is used in a closed-loop system. There are manufacturers in Henan and Shanghai that offer such solutions. Finally, I would like to ask: is it necessary to cool the condensate water before reusing it in the boiler? How much more heat is required to add cold water to the boiler?
I don’t understand why the original poster wants to cool the 90-degree one down first before using it; isn’t it more efficient to use it straight away?
