Does the process engineer take samples? Haven’t heard of it.
Sampling of the device should be carried out by a laboratory technician; it is crucial to follow the established sampling procedures. Otherwise, the samples collected will not be representative and may provide incorrect information for production purposes. This has happened many times here: production was normal, but the sample analyses showed abnormalities. Eventually, it was necessary for the process engineer to take samples and give them to the lab technician so that it could be confirmed that production was indeed normal. Of course, if the sample analysis shows abnormalities, the process engineer and the laboratory technician can jointly take samples for verification in order to rule out sampling errors.
Generally, it is the laboratory technician who takes the samples, but it is essential to enhance the technical knowledge of these staff members; otherwise, accidents may occur.
