Does a heat transfer oil electric heating furnace count as a boiler? The heat transfer oil is T66, heated to 320°C at a pressure of 6 barg. What qualifications are required for its production and installation? I contacted several manufacturers, and they said it belongs to organic heat carrier boilers and is subject to the regulations for organic heat carrier boilers. But I asked another senior engineer, and was told it relates to boilers, requiring stricter standards than those for organic heat carrier boilers. Could someone please help clarify this? Thank you~
At the manufacturing plant, they choose the supervision regulations for organic heat carrier boilers, as the requirements for such boilers are not as strict as those for traditional boilers. For specific details, you can consult the manufacturers; companies like Changzhou Zongyan and Sanjie are all excellent suppliers of heat transfer oil boilers. However, the installation company must have the qualifications required for installing boilers (low-pressure boilers are sufficient), as the local boiler inspection authorities generally consider organic heat carrier boilers to be as hazardous as low-pressure boilers, and they regulate and inspect them in accordance with the standards for low-pressure boilers. As a result, they require the client to submit applications for approval in line with low-pressure boiler regulations, and to have the installations inspected according to those same standards! Is heat transfer oil hydrogenated triphenyl, by the way?
The heat transfer oil is a mixture of T66, biphenyl, and hydrogenated biphenyl.

Additional note: Heat transfer oil furnaces shall comply with the Safety Technical Inspection Regulations for Organic Heat Carrier Furnaces, while liquid-phase furnaces should also meet the relevant requirements of the Safety Technical Inspection Regulations for Hot Water Boilers.
