There are no commercially operational industrial plants yet, but pilot plants already exist, and the process software packages are also available! The industrial catalyst is SAPO-34.
The reactions in MTO are mainly dehydration reactions and carbon chain elongation, with SAPO-34 being a suitable catalyst.
★ZSM-5 series catalysts: 5200 series catalysts – high ethylene content (~30%). M792 series catalysts – high propylene content (50–60%). ★SAPO series catalysts: DO123 series catalysts – high ethylene content (50–60%); DO300 series catalysts – high propylene content (40–60%)
