A foreign design specification is available: the design pressure for the shell side is 100 KPa, the design temperature is 700 degrees, and the fluid involved is air. The design pressure for the tube side is 90 KPa, the design temperature is 950 degrees, and the fluid here is carbon black smoke. The heat exchange area is 275 square meters. Should 310SS material be used? What are all its performance characteristics? If that doesn’t work, what material should be chosen to meet the design requirements?
It’s best not to choose 310SS; I recommend using Incoloy800H instead.
