Are there any relevant standards for installing emergency shut-off valves on the liquid ammonia gas-liquid phase pipelines? Can a check valve be used? Is an emergency shut-off valve also installed at the outlet of the road tanker during the unloading of liquid ammonia?
The liquid ammonia pipeline is equipped with a quick shut-off valve and is interlocked with the ammonia pump; a check valve must be used at the pump outlet. :victory:
At present, there are only two standards related to emergency shut-off valves, as follows: JB/T 9094-1999 – Technical requirements for emergency shut-off valves used in liquefied petroleum gas equipment; HG 3158-2005 – Emergency shut-off valves for liquefied gas tank trucks. There are still no standards regarding emergency shut-off valves for liquid ammonia in its liquid-gas phase pipelines
