Our factory is launching a new ion exchange membrane project, and the media involved include brine, chlorine gas, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, etc. Since corrosion protection is required in most of these cases, and domestic valves do not meet the standards, it is necessary to purchase a considerable number of imported valves – those conforming to European and American DIN and ANSI standards, as well as Japanese JIS and ANSI standards; domestic valves follow HG and ANSI standards. In summary, ANSI standards are the most widely used. Should we use ANSI standards consistently in the design phase, so as to facilitate ordering and future valve replacements?
It would be best to have a standardization; this would save a lot of trouble, and installation as well as future maintenance would be much easier, along with the availability of spare parts. The American standard NSI is widely used, so it might be worth considering using this standard in addition to the national standard.
It is necessary to agree on the standards, which should be in line with pipeline standards; otherwise, installation and maintenance will be very troublesome later on. Moreover, it is not difficult for manufacturers to use unified standards
It’s better to use US standards; HG standards are further divided into those suitable for Europe (similar to German standards) and those suitable for the Americas (similar to US standards), which makes future maintenance and replacement more difficult. Japanese standards work too, but American standards are used more often.
