The air compressors in my company are produced by Shanghai Bolite Compressor Co., Ltd., with the model BLT-300W; they have a flow rate of 36 liters per minute. Recently, they were sent back to the factory for repair due to oil seal leakage. After being repaired and reinstalled, they started making a sharp whistling sound whenever they were unloaded or shut down – the noise was unbearable. At first, I thought it might be a problem with the relief valve, but the whistling sound persisted even after adjustments were made by the manufacturer. It also seems that this whistling sound occurs at the minimum pressure valve as well. I’m not sure why, so I’m seeking advice from everyone here

It should be checked whether the valve disc is not sealed properly and there is air leakage.

After analysis, the specific reasons are as follows: 1. The pipeline alignment is incorrect; the equipment is subjected to excessive external forces, which cause vibrations and noise. 2. There are cracks in the supports of the equipment or within the equipment itself. 3. The precision and surface finish of the gears are poor. 4. The alignment of the units is not accurate enough. 5. Changes in the lubricating oil pressure and temperature of the units can cause the bearings to experience surge phenomena and generate noise
Please note that LZ has stated that the whistling only occurs during unloading or when the machine is shut down; it does not happen during normal operation. This situation is indeed rare: lol
It’s probably caused by a leak somewhere; check if there’s a problem with the minimum pressure valve
There should be the following issues: 1. There are areas where leakage occurs. 2. There is a problem with the pipeline. 3. The pressure relief valve is small, resulting in a fast pressure relief speed.
I’m not familiar with the structure of the model you mentioned; I suspect there’s an issue with your intake butterfly valve, so it’s recommended to check it! Your unit seems to be a screw compressor! Because the intake butterfly valve needs to be switched on and off when the unit is unloaded or shut down!

Since it was the original poster who said there was noise around the intake valve, this confirms my judgment! It is recommended to check the intake butterfly valve for wear or any other faults! The minimum pressure valve you mentioned should not cause any problems!
Is the bearing shell too tight or deformed? Is the temperature normal?
