There could be many reasons, but the possibility of coking is minimal, as flares are designed for high discharge volumes; if the discharge is not smooth, unstable pressure during discharge may occur only at the maximum discharge level. I think we still need to look for the cause in the properties of the airflow; for example, could there be intermittent changes in the calorific value of the gas? Is it mixed with other fuels? Are there still many more droplets? Was liquid separation performed? …………
