Thanks to the abundant coal resources in the area, and after extensive efforts by various parties, the 1.5 million-ton methanol project has now been set up in Huangling County. At present, the preliminary planning for this project has been completed. Work on the project’s environmental impact assessment, site selection, and preliminary design is being accelerated. Once completed, this project will play a significant role in driving the economic development of Huangling County, becoming another new source of revenue for the county’s finance and taxation systems. This year, Huangling County adopted the strategy of \"prioritizing safety, integrating resources for greater efficiency, increasing production capacity, and making breakthroughs in the chemical industry.\" Through diligent efforts by various parties, an agreement was reached with Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. to build a methanol production facility with a capacity of 1.5 million tons. On November 15, at the Shaanxi-Guangdong-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Forum, the city’s ** authorities, Yanchang Petroleum Group Co., Ltd., and ** China Gas Company Limited signed a contract for jointly developing a methanol project. The total investment in this project and the development of its downstream products amounts to 17.05 billion yuan, of which 6 billion yuan is allocated to the methanol project. The main components of this project include a facility for producing 1.5 million tons of coal-based methanol per year, an air separation unit, as well as various supporting and auxiliary facilities. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate annual sales revenue of around 4 billion yuan, taxes of about 700 million yuan, and a total profit of 1.2 billion yuan. The payback period for the investment will be 7.27 years, with a service life of 50 years. To accelerate the commencement of this project, the Huangling County Party Committee and the county’s relevant authorities have recently conducted several on-site inspections, making specific arrangements for the construction of the project and for subsequent steps. These authorities have also carried out a thorough investigation of the current state of the land and terrain as well as the buildings in the villages, thereby laying a foundation for the smooth progress of land acquisition efforts.
