The typical service life of oxidizers used in formaldehyde production is around 5 years, after which tube leakage occurs; usually, cracks appear at the welds between the tubes and the tube sheet. What measures should be taken to address minor cracks? What welding material should be used for welding?
It’s weldable; use subarc welding. Welding works too. A102 will work for welding rods
Are there any materials such as structural diagrams of formaldehyde reactors? Can you send one?
That situation is likely intergranular corrosion; TIG welding can be used, but the results are not very good. Replacing the oxidizer is the proper solution
