I work on automatic control design in a design institute, and I hope to exchange ideas with my colleagues; anyone who has any questions can bring them up for discussion. 1. Can pressure transmitters be installed using a siphon tube, just like pressure gauges?
Personally, I think it shouldn’t be possible. For pipelines with high fluid pressure, installing a transmitter can easily damage the transmitter itself; therefore, a siphon tube is generally used to lead the fluid to a certain location, serving as a buffer. For pipelines with low fluid pressure, considering the design specifications, the same approach as mentioned above should also be followed.
The commonly adopted approach internationally these days is integrated installation; for example, there are integrated orifice plates and integrated uniform-flow tubes, with their transmitters installed in close proximity. This not only reduces the costs of purchase and construction but also lowers the operating costs of the devices. The only drawback is that the installation location must be considered during design, so that maintenance personnel can access it easily without having to build ladders or anything similar. Therefore, I think using a siphon method is a viable option; Wika also refers to this as a pig tail or U-bend
With the increasing use of Intools, it has become an inevitable trend to adopt Intools in the chemical engineering design industry. Could the forum administrator create a dedicated section for Intools, so that everyone can exchange experience regarding its use and share relevant materials? I searched on the forum, but found very little information, especially regarding custom development related to Intools.

Determine the types of drawings and their numbering; once they have been created, especially after completing some of the drawings, do not change the numbering. It’s easy to make mistakes in this regard, which can lead to errors.

Actually, the accuracy of integrated orifice plates isn’t that high, and the quality of domestic products is not very good. Abroad, only the ROSEMOUNT 3051SFA series is available; no other foreign brands exist. Could someone recommend one?

A siphon is a syphon tube; do you know what the purpose of having a siphon in a pressure gauge is? There’s no difference in the installation method between pressure gauges with a siphon and those without one, right?
