There are few grades of solvent oil available in the domestic market, and their boiling ranges are wide. There are many grades abroad, and the boiling range is much narrower as well. For example, for the extraction of soybean oil, #6 solvent oil is used in China, while joint ventures generally use n-hexane. The solubility or ability should be better.
It depends on the intended use; it’s not necessarily true that the narrower the boiling range, the better. However, the higher the narrowness of the distillation range of the solvent oil, the higher its cost.
