Main processes (key equipment) in the process section of the 200,000-ton coke oven gas-to-methanol project: · Compression of gas (compressors) · Purification of gas, including desulfurization and sulfur recovery (desulfurization tower), ammonia removal (ammonia removal tower), benzene removal (benzene removal tower), and further desulfurization (desulfurizer) · Gas conversion (pure oxygen two-stage converter) · Methanol synthesis (methanol synthesis tower, low-pressure methanol synthesis process). ·Methanol distillation (pre-distillation tower, main distillation tower, atmospheric distillation tower, recovery tower) 2. Supporting utility systems ·Primary water ·Deionized water ·Heat power plant ·Circulating water ·Wastewater treatment ·External network and electricity supply
Producing methanol from 200,000 tons of coke oven gas is a strength of the Second Chemical Engineering Institute; their system equipment is available for consultation.
I believe the relevant processes and equipment are as follows: coke oven – drum cooling – (wet) desulfurization – ammonium sulfate – benzene extraction – gas holder (Roots blower) – coke oven gas compression – further desulfurization – conversion – syngas compression – synthesis – distillation – storage tank area. Utility systems include: boilers (medium and low pressure steam), fresh water system, circulating water system, desalinated water system, substation, and biochemical treatment. I will list here the equipment used in the methanol plant: one gas holder (preferably 50,000 M3), three Roots blowers, three coke oven gas compressors, a desulfurization unit (including two filters, one pre-desulfurization tank, one pre-iron-molybdenum converter, one iron-molybdenum converter, three medium-temperature iron oxide desulfurization tanks, one cobalt-molybdenum converter, two medium-temperature zinc oxide units, and one heating and reduction furnace along with four sampling coolers), conversion preheating furnaces and conversion furnaces, six heat exchangers, separators and fine filters, a syngas compression unit, one synthesis tower, two gas-to-gas heat exchangers, one water cooler, one separator, one flash tank, one pre-distillation tower, one pressure column, and one atmospheric column.
