Solutions to the fuzzing problem in the papermaking process: (1) The temperature of several drying cylinders (check the temperature using a thermometer); (2) Presence of overly short fibers in the pulp (it is necessary to reduce refining and explore options for changing the raw materials); (3) Poor bonding between fibers (increase refining and raise the amount of additives used in the wet end); (4) Check the pH value of the white water (adjust it if necessary); (5) Increase the moisture content of the paper web and/or the temperature of the sizing agents in order to enhance the sizing during pressing (thus increasing the starch content); (6) Excessively high moisture content of the paper web when it enters the pressing or drying section (increase pressing at the wet end, reduce the moisture content of the wet paper web as much as possible; if feasible, reduce refining and lower the speed of the machine); (7) Check the ash content (reduce it if other conditions permit); High ash content will cause fuzzing. (8) Identify and remove accumulations on the dry mesh and rollers. (9) Fuzzing is usually related to the depth to which fibers penetrate the forming mesh; excessive dehydration at the start of forming causes the fiber ends to stand upright and penetrate into the forming mesh. (10) Excessive dehydration without sufficient turbulence leads to sealing of the paper web (which requires a higher vacuum level in order to pull the fibers away from the wet web and insert them back into the forming mesh). (11) Maintain the headbox water level so as to achieve the theoretical slurry-to-mesh ratio; use a lower spray angle to reduce fuzzing and powder loss
