Could experts discuss the application of spiral plate heat exchangers in the chlor-alkali industry, including the areas where they are used, whether imported or domestic versions are employed, their performance, and prices, etc.? Thank you! # , , &
Our stripping tower feed preheater uses a spiral plate heat exchanger.
Spiral plate heat exchangers are not widely used in the chlor-alkali industry; from what I know, they are employed sparingly by some of my colleagues, mainly in applications such as instrument heat exchangers where the required heat exchange area is relatively small. Spiral plate heat exchangers are generally used when the two fluids involved are relatively clean. Last edited by limingshuguang on 2007-12-14 13:05.]
The pump acid heat exchangers used in our company’s chlorine compressors, as well as the liquid ring water heat exchangers in hydrogen compressors, are of the spiral plate type; they perform well and can generally remain in use for several years without requiring cleaning.
1. Preheaters are used as mild alkali in the evaporation unit, with a total of three stages connected in series; 2. There are two manufacturers using it: one in Shanghai and one in Wuxi ; 3. The service life is 1.5–2 years; if it is in Shanghai, the lifespan is longer, at 2 years ; 4. Since the medium consists of weak alkali and steam, no cleaning is required, and the condensate can be recycled ; 5. A conductivity meter was installed at the outlet to monitor for leaks. :lol
Our electrolyte preheaters (with a lifespan of 1–2 years) and the 30% alkali coolers all use spiral plate heat exchangers.
