Regarding welding procedure qualification, there are those related to welding steel materials and welding consumables (foreign brand names). When welding such materials using domestic brand-name welding consumables, is it necessary to conduct a new welding procedure qualification? For example, if the procedure qualification was carried out using AWS E7015, but J507 is used during welding – thank you; it would be good to have some evidence to support this.
According to the definition in 4708, and by referring to the classification of the base material, after conducting the process evaluation, you can classify AWS E7015 as equivalent to E5015 in the technical documents; in such cases, there is no need to conduct another evaluation.
