Is the insulation of the exhaust pipeline of the catalytic flue gas extractor appropriate?

The outlet temperature of the catalytic flue gas extractor is relatively high; a waste heat boiler has been designed for this purpose. However, there is no insulation between the outlet of the flue gas extractor and the inlet of the waste heat boiler. I’m not sure whether it’s possible to add insulation – I would appreciate any advice from everyone
There is an insulating layer inside the pipe; insulation is acceptable if the surface temperature of the flue is higher than the design temperature.
The outlet temperature of the catalytic flue gas extractor is generally between 500 and 550 degrees. The pipeline from the outlet of the flue gas extractor to the inlet of the residual boiler is lined, while external insulation is used only from there to the outlet of the residual boiler; please check this.
