I recently worked with a client who is installing a new production line. To ensure that the cleanliness standards in the workshop are met, it is necessary to design an appropriate ventilation system for the workshop, and a corresponding exhaust gas treatment unit is required as part of this ventilation system. The issue of VOCs escaping into the production workshop is addressed through containment; as for the small amounts of VOCs that do leak out, their volume being so minimal, they are released directly. If there are no containment technologies, it is recommended not to build enclosed factories; otherwise, they will still be demolished.
The quantity is too large, which means that the volume of the absorption adsorber required is also large. The absorption method can be considered; absorption towers have a large capacity, and the liquid-to-gas ratio is low. Regarding the choice of absorbent, using water as an absorbent has the drawback of creating new sources of water pollution. High-boiling-point solvents can be used instead – they hardly evaporate and can be reused over time at low cost.
I think it’s necessary to specify the organic components involved. Activated carbon adsorption is indeed an effective method, but if the composition of the activated carbon is known and it is modified appropriately, both the adsorption capacity and accuracy will **improve**.
