Our company’s sulfuric acid production plant has been shut down for almost two years; we plan to restart it now, but the tubes in all three air-cooled exchangers are damaged. What you want is repair, not the sale of materials. After repairs, there is still a warranty period. Overall, the cost of repairs is higher than the cost of manufacturing. Repairs require cleaning and disassembly, and since the number of pipes isn’t large, it becomes more difficult to work with them. So it’s only fair that they charge more for such repairs.

Based on the situation described on the 1st floor, during the shutdown period the anode protection acid cooler was not sealed, and almost all of its tubes need to be replaced! Since the tubes account for over 50% of the cooler’s total weight, in my opinion it would be more cost-effective to manufacture a new one. For anode protection acid coolers, the following methods can be used for sealing them during long periods of shutdown: 1. Clean the water side, and after water is passed through, close the inlet and outlet valves on the water side. 2. Acid side injection for acid sealing; blind flanges installed at the acid side inlet and outlet; potentiostat used to maintain passivation. 3.
