1. Initially, steam was used to evaporate the water in the used oil. 2. A contractor is currently employed to build a nine-curved pool, into which the waste oil from various discharge points and the oil collectors is poured. After multiple periods of sedimentation (as oil is lighter than water), the oil on the surface is scooped out. 3. The latest price for used oil in December is 620 yuan per barrel (300 kg).
To check the water content in the oil, if it is low, a vacuum oil filter can be used for recovery; if there is a large amount of oil mixed with water, filter membranes can be employed for recovery. With around 5% water content, heating may be used to evaporate the water, followed by recovery using vacuum. However, without experience, mistakes might be made
I heard that some manufacturers are now working on a system to keep oil from touching the ground; I’m not sure how exactly that is achieved
